Blower Door - measuring systems for air leaks

Blower Door measuring systemThe blower door is used in an exterior door of a building or a room without damage the door frame or to change it. Of course, the measurement system can be used for different types of buildings as well as newly built passive houses houses or old buildings. Often it is for leak testing in heavily air-conditioned rooms used as e.g.server centers.

The size of the aluminum frame is adjustable and fits to the door frame and the airtight nylon tarpaulin seals the opening.

The built-in fan generates either a negative or positive pressure, through the exchange of air is determined in the building. High air exchange rates (n50 value) provide information about leaks in the building that can be detected during the blower door measurement and subsequently disposed of in a targeted manner. The energy efficiency of the building and the quality of construction should be ensured.
Leaks in windows, air ducts, (like water, electrical, bell) leading to the outside pipes will be found more easily.

Simple and efficient:

Blower doorThe control of the fan is done via the pressure gauge to the notebook. While the blower door builds and maintains a constant pressure, leaks can be located. The speed of the blower door fan is automatically adapted to the changed conditions. The air change rate n50 is shown clearly on the screen of the laptop.
To recognize flaps effects (e.g.better sealing of a door by pressure or suction) the blower door method is then performed with pressure a second time.
