High pressure water mist systems are used due to their excellent properties for various applications.
Because of the fine mist the droplets evaporate very quickly and thereby displace the oxygen from the fire.
During the evaporation process, the water increases to 1760 times. Furthermore, this results in a cooling of the fire source and a heat radiation shielding.
The supplying is done either by the fire department, or by permanently installed water supplies that are obscured by high-pressure pumps or gas (eg.nitrogen).
